The Role Of Your Physical Appearance When Dating Women
There are so many opinions and theories about the importance of the physical appearance when dating a man or a woman. And so many misconceptions. Many people see their lack of success as a direct result of how they look, i.e. as a result of not being born as a photo model, as being too short, or too bald.
Although physical appearance is not to be neglected during the process, the real question to ask is:
- How can I influence my physical appearance? And,
- what is the importance of my physical appearance to women?
First of all, we want to dig into the second question. Because although it is sometimes believed, that people fall for each other based on appearance alone, there are many other factors, which can turn a date into a true success. These are things, such as integrity, confidence, manliness, an interesting lifestyle, being able to take care of oneself and of others, just to name a few. All these factors should be considered during a date. Yes, women might not decline a man who looks like George Clooney, but they would if it appears that this man is not happy with his own life, has a boring lifestyle, and is receptive to manipulation.
Now, back to the first question; what is physical appearance exactly? If we look at physical appearance in a broader sense, we can conclude that it includes:
- symmetry, and how our face looks like,
- how tall we are,
- body metrics (e.g. trained body, overweight),
- how we dress,
- how we groom,
- how we walk and stand,
- the movements we make,
- status symbols we carry along with us,
- the charisma we radiate,
- how we socialize with others,
- etc…, etc…
In this context, physical appearance is much more than the looks we were born with alone. In fact, apart from the first two features in the list above, we can influence all of the other points mentioned, at least for some part. We can do sports to build our bodies, we can dress modern and appropriate, we can groom well, we can work on our confidence and our lifestyle in order to make a confident, self assuring impression, we can have the best fun with our best friends and show it to the world.
When we speak of physical appearance, we speak of something which is much greater than the features we are born with. And so do the majority of women. In that respect, yes physical appearance is important during the dating process, but luckily men have all the potential to work on most of the features, which contribute to a positive and pleasant appearance.
